This knife is forged with wrought iron cladding high carbon tool steel (80crv2), with a thin layer of nickel in between layers. The blade is ground for high performance general use, with a lovely central balance and fine cutting edge.
The wrought iron was taken from an old logging wagon wheel in my local area, providing decoration to the high carbon steel core. The bright layer of nickel between the layers provides a little extra bling, as well as stopping any carbon migration during the forging process.
The handle is gidgee, which is one of the hardest and most durable timbers available, growing in the hard, hot country in Western Queensland.
Blade dimensions are 155mm blade, 45 at the heel with a 8mm spine just in front of the handle connection tapering to a very fine tip.
